Our touring repertory includes:
EL CABALLERO DEL MILAGRO By Lope de Vega. This classical comedy tells us the story of Don Luzmán, a handsome and moneyless young man who uses his beauty and genius to live as the richest of men. Don Luzmán masterfully uses his gift of words and other attributes to create a maze of sometimes dangerous but always hilarious situations from which he miraculously survives.
LÁGRIMAS NEGRAS by Eva Cristina Vasquez- A multimedia one-woman-show that, with a dose of amusement, reveals the racial conflicts that weight heavily on Belén, a young Latina whose sin is to have curly or “bad hair.” Lágrimas negras uses elements from Latin American melodrama to emphasize the comic side of the character life situations. The radio soap opera, the TV and radio ads carry us through the story. This play is linked with multimedia art incorporating film, animation, video and slides. Performed in Spanish.
LOS TITINGÓS DE JUAN BOBO (THE MISCHIEVOUS JUAN BOBO)- A boisterous and colorful musical comedy, written by Carlos Ferrari, based on the beloved and well-known Puerto Rican folktales of Juan Bobo. Through hijinx and mishaps the lovable Juan Bobo tries to make sense of the materialistic society in which traditional and spiritual values have been lost. The play includes some of the best known anecdotes with music, dance and song and delivers a warm nostalgic theatrical experience for those familiar with the tales, while giving new audiences a fresh, fun visit to the Puerto Rican folklore. Performed in Spanish.
LA CELESTINA by Fernando de Rojas- This play, one of the greatest masterpieces of Spanish classical literature, presents the story of two young lovers who succumb to their passion and desires in a world that is abandoning the medieval mentality and embracing the new values of the Renaissance. Celestina, the most famous match maker of all times, knits a web of deceit, from which, all characters including her, find no escape. Performed in Spanish with English super tittles.
